As part of Proyecto Vecindad's work to empower our Southeast Los Angeles communities, we realize that the direct experiences of our neighbors are often ignored. The little information that highlights the Southeast is often filled with negative scandals and is published by people who are not familiar with our Southeast L.A. experiences.
We Are SELA
is an interactive art installation and narrative project on Southeast Los Angeles communities and its members that intents to create a counter narrative to this reality.

Como parte del trabajo de Proyecto Vecindad para empoderar a nuestras comunidades, nos damos cuenta que las experiencias directas de nuestros vecinos son constantemente ignoradas. La poca información que hay del sureste suele estar llena de escándalos negativos y se publica por personas que no están familiarizados con nuestras experiencias del Sureste L.A..
