Our Mission
NUESTRA MISION
Project Neighborhood is a collective of artists, organizers, educators and residents from Southeast Los Angeles dedicated to empowering our communities. Together, we are working to create safe spaces where community members can share their experiences as Southeast L.A. neighbors, through the use of art and education.
Proyecto Vecindad es una colectiva de artistas, organizadores, educadores y residentes del Sureste de Los Angeles dedicados a empoderar nuestras comunidades. Juntos, estamos trabajando para crear espacios seguros donde los miembros de la comunidad puedan compartir sus experiencias como vecinos del Sureste através del uso del arte y educación.
Nuestra Missión es de abrir una "casa de la cultura" en nuestra comunidad en donde podamos proveer un mes de programación arítstica durante el verano. Ahí, miembros de la comunidad podrán recibir recursos y oportunidades para aprender de nuestros educadores, artistas y organizadores comunitarios que al igual están interesados en compartir sus propias habilidades y conocimientos.

and bring artistic and educational programming to the Southeast where community members can receive resources and opportunities to learn from our community educators, artists and organizers who are interested in sharing their own skills and knowledge.

Los miembros y voluntarios de Proyecto Vecindad provienen de las comunidades de Bell, Bell Gardens, Cudahy, Compton, Huntington Park, Lynwood, South Gate, Maywood, y Walnut Park. Somos de diferentes culturas y tenemos diferentes habilidades, pero todos compartimos el objetivo común de dar a nuestras comunidades del Sureste de Los Ángeles. Queremos crear alternativas que empoderen a nuestras comunidades y valoren nuestras experiencias- ya no buscamos salir de nuestro hogar con el fin de encontrar el éxito.

The Neighbors
Members and volunteers of Proyecto Vecindad come from the communities of Bell, Bell Gardens, Cudahy, Compton, Huntington Park, Lynwood, South Gate, Maywood, and Walnut Park. We come from different backgrounds and have different skills, but we all share the common goal of giving back to our communities of Southeast Los Angeles. We want to create alternatives that will empower our communities and value our experiences- no longer do we seek to leave home in order to find success.
