"In the middle of all the gentrification going on in our communities, it is urgent that we defend our culture, subcultures, and spaces By creating a safe and brave space to celebrate one another's talents. we are drawing the line. we are resisting in solidarity against anyone that wants to put a label on something that is and has always been ours, nuestra cultura." - Brenzy Solorzano.

It's Alivio Open Mic's  2nd Year Anniversary, and Proyecto Vecindad teamed up to bring the Cambio por Cambio Art Auction & Fundraiser to the garage.

A night highligting our Southeast talent with guest features that included Mat Sedillo, Xochitl Palomera, Xitlalic Guijosa-Osuna, Ryan Perez and Los Angeles Poet Laureate, Luis Javier Rodriguez.

Artists, organizers and supporters that donate to the art auction will help Proyecto Vecindad's mission to create a community cultural art space and bring educational programming to the Southeast where community members can have resources and opportunities to learn from our community educators, artists and organizers who are interested in sharing their own skills and knowledge.

Proyecto Vecindad was proud to be part of the first Art Wars event of the year coordinated by Fenix Lax and our very own P.V. member Stephanie Isordia.

Alivio host Eric Eztli represented P.V. in the spoken word competition! Thanks to all the supporters that voted, he won the first price award of $100 which he, in turn, donated to the Cambio por Cambio Fundraiser.
